The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is the most extreme expression of the company’s current road-car offerings… or is it. The Wheelsandmore GT Black Series shows that there is always more to be extracted from even ultra-high performance cars.

No slouch

The radically styled coupe has a twin-turbocharged V8 that has a flat plane crankshaft. Peak power of 537 kW is developed between 6 700-6 900 r/min and maximum torque of 800 N.m is on tap from 2 000-6 000 r/min. This makes it the most powerful AMG ever to go on sale, you can read more about it at this link.

Thanks to revised suspension and some serious aero downforce the GT Black Series is the fastest production vehicle to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 6 minutes and 43 seconds (read more about the record-breaking run here). With those credentials you would think that there is very little left to squeeze from the car, but you’d be wrong.

More power

The Wheelsandmore GT Black Series takes an already radical car and builds on that to offer even more personalisation and performance. A piggyback ECU raises the V8’s power to 580 kW with peak torque lifted to 870 N.m. Top speed is lifted to 336 km/h.

More noticeable is the newly introduced forged rims called Underdock UD-1. These alloys come with an adapter that converts the existing hub into a central locking system. Interestingly, the adapter can be moved from one car to another. Wheelsandmore says that its new development German TÜV’s approval. Buyers can choose between six shades: sunset bronze, bronze, copper, gun metal, rose gold, and patina gold.
