No More V10

We already know that the Lamborghini 634, the codename for the successor to the Huracan, will not have a V10 engine. This breaks tradition as the Gallardo and Huracan were both powered by naturally aspirated engines of this configuration. The all-new engine is a twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The powertrain also features a hybrid system with three electric motors. The eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox is a version of the same unit found in the V12 Revuelto.

Screamer

Lamborghini has already highlighted the fact that the new engine will be a screamer, with a redline around the 10 000 mark. Remember, this is a production engine that is also boosted, so the high-r/min nature is quite a surprise as force-fed engines don’t require high engine speeds to make power.

As a refresher, the twin snails are nestled within the Vee of the block. The block contains a flat-plane crankshaft that is connected to titanium conrods. Lambo says that peak power delivered by the ICE will be 589 kW, produced between 9 000 and 9 750 r/min. Maximum torque is quoted as 730 N.m. Listen to new Lambo engine scream in the video below.
