McLaren doesn’t mess around when it comes to high-performance cars. Even the slowest machines produced in Woking are fast by most standards. When the firm really wants to show off it produces an LT, for long tail, version of a current production model. LT is a nod to the  McLaren F1 GTR Longtail which won the GT1 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in  1997. The newest car to wear the LT badge is the 765LT (for 765 hp), but even that isn’t enough for some people… enter the Novitec McLaren 765LT

By all accounts the 765LT leaves the factory as a seriously quick supercar. It has oodles of power and track-focussed changes (which you can read about here). The Novitec McLaren 765LT takes that base and turns up a few notches to deliver even more performance.

In stock form the twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 delivers 563 kW of power and 800 N.m of torque. Novitec offers a few levels of performance, all of which are based on a plug and play auxiliary ECU. New tuning remaps the ignition and injection parameters as well as electronic boost pressure control. In its most extreme level of tune the motor delivers a massive 629 kW (which means they should really call it the 855LT) and peak torque of 898 N.m. The Novitec McLaren 765LT is said to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a hypercar-slaying 2,5 seconds. The 200 km/h mark comes up in just 6,5 seconds. Top speed is rated as over 330 km/h.

Other areas of focus on Novitec’s take on the 765LT are bespoke set of alloys that measure 20 inch on the front, and 21 inch on the rear axle. The front alloys are shod with 255/30- and the rear with 325/25 high-performance rubber. The car’s ride height is also lowered 20 mm. Aerodynamic-enhancements give the Novitec McLaren 765LT even sharper looks. These include naked-carbon inserts for the headlights and trunk lid as well as the air scoop on the roof. Naked-carbon inserts can be optioned for the rocker panels and the air intakes on both sides of the engine cover.
