Limited-edition supercars are the reserve of the very few, and for car makers who know how to create demand. Pagani has used this method to ensure that its creations remain desirable. The latest limited-edition to escape the gates of the company’s factory is the Pagani Huayra Tricolore, of which just three examples will be produced. Celebration edition

The Pagani Huayra Tricolore was created to mark the 60th anniversary of the Italian Air Force Aerobatic Team, known as Frecce Tricolori. It may look like a Huayra Roadster but the trio of cars will feature “specially designed and developed” new bodyshell made from “advanced composite materials”. These new materials are said to enhance rigidity and the suspension has been retuned accordingly.

Bespoke features

More obvious changes include a new front splitter, reshaped cooling vents in the front bumper and a central air scoop above the cabin that feeds cool air to the Mercedes-AMG-sourced V12 engine. The rear spoiler is fashioned from a single piece of carbon-fibre. Along with a new rear diffuser, the two elements boost downforce. The Italian flag is emblazoned on the flanks, just like the acrobatic planes. The same livery is used extensively in the cabin, which also features lashings of carbon-fibre.

Most powerful

Under the engine cover is the Huayra’s twin-turbocharged 6,0-litre V12. Power output is similar to the Imola. Peak power is 618 kW with a maximum of 1 100 N. sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed sequential gearbox and electromechanical differential. Those outputs make the Pagani Huayra Tricolore the most powerful road-going Pagani ever produced. You can catch in action in the firm’s launch video below.
