The BMW M2 Competition in the hands of Gennaro Bonafede proved to be a very quick combination.

Keeping a close eye on competitor times via a live-timing service.

Former tin-top champ, Mike Briggs, took the honours in the motorsport legends challenge against Deon Joubert and Shaun Watson-Smith, all of whom were driving Jaguar all-electric I-pace SUVs.

Old-hand, multiple SA champion Deon Joubert is now a regular feature at the Simola Hillclimb. Judging by that smile he enjoyed the 2019 event.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia QV was one of the very few saloon cars participating at the event.

Multiple SA rally champion Mark Cronje put on a good show in the Jaguar F-Type Coupe SVR.

The Border Towing Nissan GT-R R34 of Van Zummeren was a real crowd favourite.

Drivers are all concentration before setting off on their timed runs.

The winged wonder, a Nissan GT-R R35 with a truck-load of power and even more downforce, driven by Franco Scribante, was the fastest tin-top car of the 2019 event.
