Another Take

The GMA T.33 Spider is not an all-new model. Instead it is a new take on the existing T.33 sportscar. The open-top version should bring with it a heightened sense of speed, not to mention a better appreciation of the high-revving naturally aspirated engine behind the cabin. The T.33 Spider has a target dry weight of 1 108 kg, just 18 kg more than the coupe.

“From the very beginning, I knew that one of the biggest challenges in designing the T.33 Spider would be keeping the purity, balance and overall beauty of the T.33. That’s why I sketched both versions at the same time to make sure that the proportions would work.”

Same Powertrain

The T.33 Spider utilises the same 3,9-litre V12 that powers its fixed head sibling. The Spider still revs to 11 100 r/min and produces 453 kW along with 451 N.m of torque. Delivering power to the tar is an Xtrac-developed six-speed manual transmission. The manual is the only transmission option, as opposed to the coupe that also has an auto’ option. A mechanical limited slip differential is still standard though.

As with its other recent creations, GMA makes no performance claims for the GMA T.33 Spider. GMA builds cars for driving enthusiasts rather than for bragging rights. However, you have serious bragging rights if you manage to scoop up any of the limited-runs creations built by the UK-based firm. Learn more about the T.33 Spider in the video below.
