“You owe me a ten-second car.” That must be one of the most iconic lines from the Fast and Furious movie franchise. The words were uttered in the very first movie twenty years ago in 2001. Back then no one knew that the series would grow to the scale it has – $6bn and growing. In that very first movie, Paul Walker debuted, arguably, the most famous Supra in the world. Now the Fast And Furious Supra has just been sold at an auction.

Nuclear Gladiator

The Fast And Furious Supra appeared in two movies, making an appearance in 2 Fast 2 Furious as well. It has become one of the most recognisable movie cars (click here to see more famous movie cars) of all time thanks to the Lamborghini Diablo Candy Orange pearl paint and distinctive ‘Nuclear Gladiator’ graphics along the flanks. Other items that helped it stand out are the Bomex front spoiler and side skirts, TRD-style hood, APR aluminum biplane rear wing, and 19-inch Dazz Motorsport alloys.

Paul Walker was a bona fide petrolhead as you can see from his own collection of cars by clicking here.

Many fans will remember the Fast and Furious Supra from the closing scene of the very first movie as it lined up against Dominic Toretto’s Dodge Charger in a drag race. The car has been restored to the same condition as it was in the first movie. It features a factory 2JZ-GTE turbocharged 3,0-litre inline-six engine that is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

Auctioned off

The Fast and Furious Supra was auctioned off, with no reserve, at a recent Barrett Jackson auction event hosted in Las Vegas. The hammer fell at $550 000, roughly R7,9 million using today’s exchange rate. That must surely make it the most expensive Supra in the world.
