Mercedes tuning house GAD motors has tuned a Mercedes-AMG SLS to produce over 740 kW.

Two-turbochargers

To extract that level of power from the 6,2-litre motor the firm has modified the V8 extensively, including bolting on a pair of turbochargers, fitting an aftermarket ECU along with several other upgrades.

The car had reportedly turned in a speed of 300 km/h in half a mile (804 m) from a standing start.

Whoops

At a recent event in Germany the self-billed, “fastest SLS in the world” was on a run against a modified Jeep and things to a turn for the worse.

Partway through its run the SLS veered off course and then, despite being on full brakes, the car left the runway and careened into the grass outfield. It seems that there was no serious damaged caused to the car.
