We usually share info and videos relating to cars but we thought this Moto3 save is too good not to share.

MotoGP riders are known for their incredible bravery, and often quite spectacular saves. A good example is Niklas Ajo who finished a race in 2015 on his knees.

Save of the year

It’s not even the middle of 2018 and we already have a contender for the Save of the Year.

At the start of the final lap of the Moto3 French Grand Prix at Le Mans, Enea Bastiannini crashed directly ahead of Jakub Kornfeil. The Czech ride had nowhere to go and hit his rival’s bike side-on.

In his own words

“The first thing I was thinking of was to open the gas and stand up on the pegs. The landing was so heavy, my rear suspension went down to its maximum. It even activated my leathers’ airbag.”

Kornfeil stuck the landing like an Olympic gymnast on the mat and even managed to finish the race in sixth, just a couple of seconds behind race winner Albert Arenas.

“The last lap was really painful so could not wait to stretch my body after the race. Right after crossing the finish line, I left my bike to the marshals, opened the leather tried to relax little bit,” said the 25 year old.
