The W Series crash took place during qualifying. No fewer than six drivers were involved in the incident. The accident involved Sarah Moore, Ayla Agren, Belen Garcia, Abbie Eaton, Beitske Visser and Fabienne Wohlwend. They were all caught out by rain at the notorious, high-speed Eau Rouge/Radillon corner complex

All the drivers involved were checked by medical staff on site, while two were taken to hospital for further examination. Ayla Agren was subsequently discharged while Beitske Visser had a CT scan, which revealed no injuries. She is still awaiting the results of a leg X-ray.

Racing Director Dave Ryan on qualifying: “It was eventful to say the least, but thankfully it seems everyone is okay. The cars have stood up unbelievably well to what looks like a massive crash. Jamie Chadwick did a great job to stay focused and get pole.”
