It seems hard to believe but the Porsche Boxster was launched 25 years ago. Since debut in 1996, and over four generations, in excess of 357 000 units have been delivered across the globe. To celebrate this milestone the German automaker has created the Porsche Boxster 25th Anniversary. This is a limited edition model of which just 1 250 units will be built.

Unique appearance

The Porsche Boxster 25th Anniversary is finished in silver with highlights in in a copper-like colour called Neodyme. The front apron, side air intakes with mono bar and two-tone 20-inch alloy wheels are covered in this unique shade. Other colours available are Deep Black Metallic and Carrara White Metallic.

The interior is finished in a red shade called Bordeaux with a red fabric convertible top. An interior package in Aluminium, 14-way electrically adjustable sports seats, door sill trims with “Boxster 25″ lettering and the heated GT multifunction sports leather steering wheel are all standard equipment.

High-revving engine

The Porsche Boxster 25th Anniversary is powered by the same engine as the GTS model. Under the engine cover is a high-revving, 4,0-litre flat-six motor. The naturally aspirated unit produces 294 kW of power. The motor can be mated with a manual six-speed transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK). 

Porsche says the limited-edition mode can reach a top speed of 293 km/h and, in combination with the PDK gearbox and standard Sport Chrono package, sprints from zero to 100 km/h in four seconds. Porsche Active Suspension Management sports suspension (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical limited-slip differential are both standard. They combine remarkable ride comfort and sporty, dynamic handling.
