Ferrari’s Portofino is often criticised for being the softest, least sporting model from the Italian supercar maker. Well, it seems the Novitec Ferrari Portofino is here to makes amends to anyone who is a fan of the entry-level model from Maranello.

Upping the ante

Novitec is now offering an exclusive customisation range for the Ferrari Portofino. The German tuning masters start by tuning the twin-turbocharged 3,9-litre V8. Buyers can choose between various power ratings, the most powerful of which dishes up 503 kW (up 62 kW from stock) at 7 400 r/min with peak torque of 871 N.m (up 91 N.m from the standard car). Novitec says this allows the Portofino to sprint to 100 km/h in just 3,2 seconds with top speed increased to 325 km/h.

The power increase comes from new software mapping provided by the company’s own electronic control units (ECU). Engineers take advantage of the car’s turbocharged motor to add more boost pressure. This upgrade is coupled with a high-performance exhaust system made either from stainless steel or lightweight Inconel.

New looks and handling

The appearance of the Novitec Ferrari Portofino is made clear by tailor-made naked-carbon components along with forged rims. The new alloys measure 21 inches at the front and 22 inches on the rear axle. These are wrapped in Pirelli rubber measuring 255/30 on the front wheels and 315/25 on the rears. Sport springs lower the ride height of the Novitec Ferrari Portofino by 35 millimetres. A hydraulic front-lift system enables the driver to raise the front by 40 mm remotely.

Novitec designers developed an aerodynamic-enhancement package that was optimised in the wind tunnel. It includes, among others, a front spoiler, air deflector inserts for the two side air intakes in the front bumper, two air intakes in the hood and rear spoiler lip that minimises rear-axle lift as well.
