Revitalised

The small-scale operation plans to build just ten units of the Maturo Stradale. Incidentally, Juha Kankkunen is Maturo’s brand ambassador. The Finn won the WRC Driver’s title piloting an original Integrale in 1991. The Maturo Stradale Lancia Delta is based on the high-performance, HF derivative of the boxy hatch. The company strips down the car and adds 250 new spot welds. In addition they also weld in an integrated roll cage to the strengthened shell.

New Looks

Maturo then clothes the refreshed shell in a full carbon-fibre suit. The new body panels are 50 kg lighter. Maturo is targeting a mass of 1 200 kg. Other exterior changes include a more pronounced front lip and larger rear spoiler. The Maturo Stradale rides on lightweight 17-inch Evo Corse wheels.

A new look interior features leather, carbon, titanium, anodised aluminum and Alcantara. The front seats are carbon-backed Sparco buckets and owners can choose to ditch the rear bench altogether. The instrument cluster is quite plain in execution, but is modernised.

More Power

The Lancia’s 2,0-litre four-cylinder engine undergoes a massive revamp before reinstallation. New internals include forged rods and pistons, along with lighter valves. External upgrades include a larger carbon airbox, rebuilt Garrett turbo, larger intercooler, new injectors and a reprogrammed ECU. These changes allow peak boost to rise from 1,2 to 1,8 bars, This helps power to increase from the stock 160-odd kW to a more competitive 265. Maximum torque is north of 500 N.m.

Stronger gears have been fitted to the Lancia’s original five-speed gearbox to deal with the extra torque. Owners can opt for straight-cut gears or even a dog-leg pattern if they wish. Maturo adds a new viscous centre differential and mechanical locking differentials on both axles to effectively transfer power to the ground.
