Naturally aspirated V10

The Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD is powered by the same naturally aspirated 5,2-litre V10 as its siblings albeit in a slightly more modest state of tune. The motor churns out 449 kW, at a dizzying 8 000 r/min, along with 560 N.m of torque. Power is handled by a twin-clutch transmission. As the RWD bit of the name denotes, torque is fed solely to the rear axle, unlike its all-wheel-drive brethren. The newest Lambo has a mass of 1 389 kg. The company quotes the Huracán Evo RWD as having a top speed of 325 km/h and states that it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3,3 seconds.

Engineered for driving fun

Lamborghini has tuned the traction control system to deliver a fun-to-drive experience in both dry and wet conditions. The new system, dubbed Performance Traction Control System (P-TCS) is calibrated specifically for the Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD, delivering torque even during the phase where the car is realigning following drifting or side-slipping.

The Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD driving modes, selected via the steering wheel’s ANIMA button (‘soul’ in Italian). In Strada, rear-wheel slip is reduced. In Sport mode, the P-TCS allows the rear wheels to slide during acceleration, for easy drifting fun without compromising safety. In Corsa, system is calibrated to achieve the rear-wheel slip that optimises the car’s traction when exiting a corner.

Evo-l looks

The Huracan Evo RWD features a new front splitter and vertical fins within the larger, framed front air intakes. The rear bumper in high gloss black incorporates a new diffuser unique to this derivative. Nineteen-inch Kari rims with specially-developed Pirelli P Zero tires are fitted with ventilated and cross-drilled steel brakes. As an option 20-inch rims and carbo-ceramic brakes are available.

In his own words

“The Huracan Evo rear-wheel-drive puts the car in the driver’s hands: the driving experience is delivered by the hardware,” says Stefano Domenicali, chairman and chief executive officer of Automobili Lamborghini. “This car reminds the driver of Lamborghini’s pure engineering origins: the driver is at the centre of the Huracan Evo RWD’s performance, with unfiltered feedback and an emotive and more engaging driving experience controlled by the pilot.”
