Martin Brundle is a icon in the world of Formula One. Over 165 Grands Prix he drove for no fewer than eight teams, claiming nine podium finishes. However, he didn’t manage to claim a victory in F1. He did taste more success in sportscar racing, claiming overall wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona
For many, his driving career isn’t that well known, but his grid walks are the stuff of legend. Brundle is the gold standard in the world of motorsport commentary, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience that few possess. Now, his legend is immortalised in a very special 911 restomod that was designed with input from his daughter.

Limited Edition
Gunther Werks is well known for its 993-based 911s. Just five examples of the Brundle Edition will be made. Each is distinguished by an exclusive two-tone pearl livery inspired by Martin’s crash helmet and one-off forged magnesium wheels inspired by the Brabham Formula 1 car he drove. The car was created in conjunction with Martin’s daughter and automotive designer Charlie Brundle,
In addition, each car comes with a Brundle Edition Bell HP77 Carbon Fiber Helmet painted to match the car. Individual Brundle lettering on the rear distinguishes the Brundle Edition from any other GW creations. The passenger side dash features one of Martin’s signature quotes, “The most important bit of the car is the nut holding the steering wheel.”
Check out five other restomods that aren’t Porsche-based.
Turbo power
Under the rear deck is a Gunther Werks-specified, Rothsport Racing-built 4,0L twin-turbo flat-six. 642 kW and 813 N.m of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a six-xpeed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The brake discs measure a massive 355 mm up front and 345 mm at the rear. The Gunther Werks Brundle Edition weighs a scant 1 230 kg so it should really shunt with those power outputs. The car also features bespoke double-wishbone suspension. Fittingly, suspension tuning was finalised with input from MB himself.
