A New Offering

The new midsize SUV is a high-riding version of the EQE sedan and Mercedes says that this will be one of the roomiest vehicles in its class. All versions of the EQE SUV ride on a four-link suspension set-up for the front wheels and a multi-link rear. There is also the option of rear-wheel steering to improve the SUV’s agility.

The EQE SUV will be offered in five variants. Non-AMG versions include the rear-wheel drive EQE350+ and the all-wheel drive EQE350 4Matic and EQE500 4Matic. AMG versions will be badged EQE43 and EQE53. All models use the same 90,6 kWh battery as found in the EQE sedan.

AWD versions of the Mercedes-EQ EQE SUV can decouple the front motor completely during low loads, allowing the car to become rear-wheel drive with the aim of saving battery charge.

Powerhouse

At the top range is the Mercedes-AMG EQE53 4Matic. This version offers up to 505 kW and 1 000 N.m of torque if you take the option AMG Dynamic Plus Package. Without that option owners can expect 460 kW/950 N.m. The EQE43 4Matic offers 350 kW and 858 N.m. Both AMG versions send power to all four wheels.

There are also non-AMG versions. The first of which is the EQE350 that is available in rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive versions. Both of these have 215 kW and 565 N.m. An EQE500 has 300 kW and 858 N.m of torque.
