E-tron awaits

Audi has made the commitment that by 2026 every new Audi model launched on the global market will be all-electric. Audi’s EV range of vehicles are sold under the E-tron banner. It is a name we became acquainted with through the brand’s racing activities at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was this name that was attached to the hybrid powered machines that raced at and ultimately won the famous endurance race.

The EV rollout starts in SA from the first quarter of 2022. The local E-tron range will include six Audi e-tron derivatives in three ranges. The SUV derivatives are badged E-tron 50 (230 kW) and E-tron 55 (300 kW). The coupe-like SUV versions are called E-tron Sportback 55 (300 kW) and E-tron Sportback S (370 kW). And leading the charge are the sleek (Porsche Taycan-based) Audi E-tron GT (390 kW) and Audi RS E-tron GT (475 kW).
