Heavyweight American

Representing the Stars and Stripes is the Jeep Trackhawk. This heavyweight SUV has a 6,2-litre supercharged V8 that pumps out 522 kW and a monstrous 880 N.m of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through an automatic transmission that has a launch control function. Jeep says this brute can reach 100 km/h from standstill in 3,7 seconds. The car rides on  20-inch alloys that shroud a Brembo braking system.

Check out BMW’s upcoming battery powered M SUV, with massive 1 100 N.m, at this link.

Teutonic

From the land of bratwurst and sauerkraut comes the Audi RSQ8. This is the apex model of Audi’s extensive SUV portfolio. The RSQ8 has the same underpinnings and twin-turbocharged V8 engine as the Lamborghini Urus SUV (Click here to read our Urus driving report). In the Audi the motor is good for 441 kW and 800 N.m of twist effort. Audi says the RS Q8 will sprint to 100 km/h in just 3,8 seconds and it has a top speed of 305 km/h.

American vs German SUV

Which do you think is going to win out in the American vs German SUV drag race?
