If you haven’t heard of him before, Abdo ‘Dado’ Feghali has a pretty impressive CV in the world of going sideways. One of Feghali’s standout achievements is breaking the Guinness World Record in 2013 for the longest continuous drift covering an incredible 11,1 km. In 2013, Dado won the overall Lebanese Rally Championship.

“It was never a question,” he says. “I would do everything to get into that driver’s seat and play for the rest of my life. The team on the project showed me the concept and I loved it immediately”, says Feghali. The basic premise of the short film is to have a child racing a remote-controlled race car around the roads of Minitown, while Feghali drifts the real Durban streets as its counterpart. “It was a really successful shoot, and we’re really happy to share the finished product.”

The Durban Drift by Abdo Feghali starts at the distinctive sugar terminal, takes a drive through the city centre where he encounters lane-straddling taxis (of course he does…), makes a quick stop at Dezzi Raceway in Port Shepstone and finishes off near the city’s main beachfront area.

“I loved Durban and can’t wait to bring my family for a vacation there sometime soon,” he said after his experience.
