The Ferrari 488 Pista is one of the most extreme models to come out of the stable in Maranello. But for some, even that isn’t enough, which is where the Novitec Ferrari 488 Pista comes in. This is the latest model to get a complete makeover from the speed merchants at Novitec. Click here to see some of their other recent creations.

More power

The Pista is powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 motor. The high-revving engine produces 530 kW and 770 N.m in standard trim, and has won the international engine of the year award four times in a row. Once Novitec has warmed it over it can crank out as much as 590 kW at nearly 8 000 r/min and 898 N.m of torque at a low 3 100. The power increase comes courtesy of two Novitec N-Tronic control modules that are added to the engine electronics. Via these piggy-back ECUs there is new mapping for injection and ignition as well as an increase in boost pressure limit.

Performance benefits include a reduction in acceleration time from 0-100 km/h, which is now covered in a scant 2,7 seconds, while top speed has been increased to a dizzying 345 km/h. These figures make it even more potent than the Novitec McLaren 600LT.

Bespoke looks

To help set the Novitec Ferrari 488 Pista apart the company has developed several bespoke aesthetic items. These may alter the appearance, but they also have functional benefits. Among these is a front spoiler that reduces aerodynamic lift at high speeds, rocker panels that give the two-seater an even sportier appearance and channel the airflow along the flanks, carbon covers for the side mirrors and a rear lip spoiler is the final touch.

Massive alloys, up to 21-inch at the front and 22 on the rear axle are shod with Pirelli P Zero high-performance rubber measuring 255/30 ZR 21 and 335/25 ZR 22. The car’s stance is lowered by 35 mm thanks to new sports springs.
