Electric Power

For those who need a reminder, the Lotus Evija is a first for the sportscar maker with a long history of sportscars in its past. It is the first all-electric supercar from the manufacturer. A maximum of 130 examples will be hand-built in the UK.

The Evija produces 1 500 kW and 1 704 N.m of torque. This makes it the most powerful series production road car ever. That output and AWD allow it to sprint from 0-100 km/h in under three seconds. The top speed has been limited to 350 km/h. Lotus says the EV will take 9,1 seconds to reach 300 km/h.

Jenson Button’s Lotus Evija

Button’s car is completely bespoke. The unique colour scheme pays tribute to his 2009 F1 World Championship-winning Brawn GP racer. The car is finished in Arctic White, with Verve Yellow and Carbon Black accents. The same colour scheme has been carried over to the interior. Jenson’s race number from this title-winning year, 22, is displayed on the door mirrors and on the interior door lining.

An aluminium strip, which runs vertically through the seat centre, has been laser-etched with the date and location of every one of Jenson’s 15 F1 race wins. It also includes the six victories that helped him win the 2009 F1 title.

In His Own Words

Button commented: “The car looks sensational and in a colour scheme which means so much to me. The Lotus team has done an amazing job to deliver the design proposal we dreamed up together – they’ve created a real head-turner.”
