A few days ago we brought you information on a Toyota GR Supra that was tuned by German outfit Manhart (original story here). Now the company has turned its attention to the Audi RS Q8 and created the Manhart Audi RQ900, a limited-edition model of just 10 units.

Power increase

As mentioned, the starting point for this exercise is the Audi RS Q8, which is already a powerful and quick SUV (read more about it at this link). To create the Manhart Audi RQ900 the company modifies the 4,0-litre V8 extensively though the press material does not go into detail. A pair of larger turbochargers is the main upgrade, along with an ECU and replacement exhaust system.

The net result is a massive 662 kW and an even more impressive 1 080 N.m of torque. The peak torque output required an upgrade to the standard car’s eight-speed automatic transmission. Surprisingly, they don’t quote any performance figures for the car. If we had to guess we’d say it’s f***** fast considering the standard RS Q8 with just 441 kW can sprint to 100 km/h in under four seconds and can top 300 km/h.

Mean appearance

Manhart hasn’t only applied their bespoke treatment to the powertrain. The 10 units will all wear a custom body kit fashioned from carbon-fibre. New items include a bonnet, front spoiler, side skirts, rear spoiler, diffuser and wheel arch extensions all made from the lightweight stuff. Massive, 23-inch alloys fill the wheelarches and the wheel-to-body gap is reduced 30 mm thanks to a lowering kit. Fortunately, the decal kit is optional. The interior, too, has been customised with owners able to choose between various colour options to suit their tastes.
