Over the last few years, there has been a proliferation of high-end, bespoke models coming from unknown motoring companies. The Ares Design Panther One and Austrian-built Milan Red spring to mind. Now the Frangivento Asfane 1010 joins this exclusive club.

Outlandish

The Frangivento Asfane 1010 is the creation of Italian firm, FR. The outlandish-looking creation has been teased for a few months and just a few days ago it made its public debut.

Its wedge-like shape is fashioned from carbon-fibre and aluminium. To add even more drama it has upward-opening ‘gullwing’ doors, a carbon-fibre rear spoiler and a racecar-style roof-mounted scoop. The over-the-top appearance continues at the rear with free-floating taillamps and no fewer than six exhaust tips, of varying sizes sitting above a massive diffuser.

Powerplant
According to reports, the Frangivento Asfane 1010 is powered by a 5,4-litre V10 internal combustion engine that also features turbocharging. That engine alone is good for a whopping 633 kW. Drive from the petrol engine is delivered to the rear wheels by an eight-speed automatic transmission. But that power output was, seemingly, not enough and the car also has two electric motors driving the front axle that add 110 kW to the total power output for a grand total of 743 kW (or 1010 PS – hence the name).

The company has not made any performance claims for the Frangivento Asfane 1010 as yet but with only 1,5 tons for that power to move, we can only guess that it will be molto rapido. The Asfane 1010 is only the first hybrid model from the brand. An even more extreme HypersportItalia will follow soon.

Perusing the Frangivento official website the company seems eager to highlight the links between it and other well-known high-performance brands such as OZ Racing wheels shod with Pirelli tyres and Brembo brakes.
