Hybrid V8 twin-turbo

Besides releasing the official images that you can see above the company also divulged full engine info on the all-new model. A 2,88-litre, flat crank V8 is fed by a pair of turbochargers and is capable of revving to 11 000 r/min. The mid-mounted motor is mated with a seven-speed sequential transaxle gearbox with a hydraulic actuated multi-plate clutch. The entire assembly is built in-house by Czinger.

Two continuous front traction motors, one per wheel, and one crank-driven generator to charge the lithium-titanate completes the hybrid set-up. Total system power is rated as 920 kW. Czinger says that 21C will dash from 0-100 km/h in 1,9 seconds and from standstill to 300 km/h in 15 seconds and from the line to 400 km/h in 29. They also say it will complete the quarter-mile in an astounding 8,1 seconds. Depending on which version you chose, 21C ‘regular’ or track-spec top speed is quoted as 432 and 380 km/h, respectively. Speaking of track vs regular, the former generates 250 kg of downforce at 250 km/h while the latter generates over 790 kg at the same speed.

Limited edition

The Czinger 21C is built entirely in the US by a small team of designers, engineers and scientists. The company says it uses “a revolutionary, patented, production system”. Just 80 units of the 21C will be built comprising of both road and track-oriented variants.
