It probably started with old Fords or Alfa Romeos. Since then it spread to Porsches and BMWs. Nowadays it’s moved on to Ferraris and Lamborghinis. The restomod treatment is rife and the Tedson Etna is the latest to join the club. Croatian firm Tedson Motors has applied this resto/modification treatment to the Lamborghini Gallardo.

Lightweight and Sleek
The Tedson Etna is based on the Gallardo, one of the best-selling models from SantAgata of all time. As a result there are plenty of them around to be modified. Tedson’s rework is quite extensive. The company skins all the bodywork off the mid-mounted machine. In its place are carbon-fibre replacements. Furthermore, the panels have been reshaped.
The body is 60 mm wider and there are resculpted air intakes on the flanks. Keen observers will note the completely redesigned front bumper as well as the body-coloured slatted engine cover with duck-tail spoiler. In addition there are new taillamps as well as a pair of fat titanium exhausts. The final part of the new appearance is a set of tele-dial alloys that are larger than standard and are suspended by parts sourced from Lambo racecars.

10 000 Screamer
The best part, however, may be the bits you can’t see. The company completely rebuilds the naturally aspirated 5,0-litre V10. New internals help increase power to 441 kW (an even 600 hp). Additionally, the rev-limiter has been lifted to north of 10 000 r/min so the V10 will really be screaming. Tedson starts with Lamborghini’s e-gear robotised manual transmission which it then reverse engineers back into a traditional manual with three pedals and a stick shift. Tedson says the Etna weighs about 200 kg less than its donor car, which should make it proper fun to drive.
