This is a drag race many have been waiting to see, Lamborghini Huracan Performante versus McLaren 720S.

Heavy hitters

The McLaren 720S packs 530 kW, from its twin-turbocharged V8, a figure that was near unheard in a road car just a few years ago. That power allows it to sprint to 100 km/h from standstill in 2,9 seconds, pretty impressive for a rear-wheel drive car. Thanks to its slippery shape top speed is rated at 341 km/h.

It may sound like it’s in the wrong weight division, but the Lamborghini Huracan Performante punches out 470 kW from its naturally aspirated V10. The claimed acceleration figure from the manufacturer is identical to that of the Mac. More importantly, the Lambo has all-wheel drive.

Place your bets

To level the playing field the two cars run to a distance of 804 metres, or half a mile, instead of the standard quarter mile that may favour the all-wheel Lambo.

Can you guess which car is going to win?
