What you are looking at is the Hyundai N Roadster, except it isn’t really. This is a flight of fancy, and perhaps wishful thinking, on the part of Yeonjoon Park. This talented designer has created, what he believes, a Hyundai N Roadster would look like; and we are fans of the rendering.

Park has taken design cues from Hyundai’s current models, such as the hot hatch Veloster, and combined them into a small roadster reminiscent of the Mazda MX-5.

Beautiful details

Park’s design is heavy on details, such as the air intake on the bonnet, the extraction vents on the fenders just aft of the front wheels and the interestingly sculpted front doors. The rear three-quarter angle is quite aggressive, with flared rear arches, twin exhaust outlets and slim-line taillamps joined by a body-wide red strip.

Sporty by naughty

If the fixed rear wing, diffuser and massive alloys hiding large brakes are any indication, then it probably packs some serious firepower. Though this model is nowhere near reality, we would like to see Hyundai’s 202 kW turbocharged 2,0-litre inline four-pot installed under that long bonnet.

It would be great if the Hyundai N Roadster made it into production, but as far as we are aware the Korean manufacturer has no plans to enter this very niche sector.
