Special paint

The First Edition models are immediately recognisable thanks to BMW Individual Frozen Dark Silver special paint finish available exclusively for these two vehicles. This matt paint finish can also be specified with the BMW Individual Frozen Marina Bay Blue. Other exterior cues are M light-alloy wheels in a Jet Black, high-gloss finish available exclusively for the special-edition models. The wheels measure 21-inches at the front and 22 at the rear. The exterior styling also includes carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) trim such as the M Carbon exterior mirror caps and an M Carbon rear spoiler for the BMW X6 M Competition. An M Carbon engine compartment cover is also part of First Edition specification.

Interior treatment

The exclusive treatment continues in the cabin of the First Edition derivatives. BMW Individual Merino full leather trim is offered in exclusive two tone Silverstone/Midnight Blue. This colour choice on the interior is to compliment the exterior colours. Black Alcantara inserts in the seat bolsters have contrast stitching in Sakhir Orange. The same shade of stitching is used on the door panel trim and instrument panel. CFRP interior trim strips are available as well. Silver-coloured “First Edition 1/250” lettering is applied to the carbon-fibre strip before sealed by a clear coat seal.

V8 twin-turbo

As with other Competition versions of the X5M and X6M the two First Edition variants are powered by a 4,4-litre V8 engine fed by twin turbochargers. Peak outputs of 460 kW and 750 N.m are quoted for both. Power delivery is handled by an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. An all‑wheel-drive system with rear-biased setup is the final link the transmission chain. This system can be adjusted in 4WD/4WD Sport modes. An Active M Differential helps rear traction and improves dynamic behaviour.
