The annual Concours SA has returned after a brief hiatus. The 2022 Concours South Africa event is set to take place at Broadacres Centre in Fourways Johannesburg on November 20. The best part of this year’s event is that entry is free for the public.

Classic Car Celebration

The 2022 Concours South Africa will, once again, be a showcase of some of the best classic cars in our country. Concours competitions worldwide are judged by experienced classic car enthusiasts. Points are awarded for originality and, of course, the condition of the car. This year’s competition will be limited to 120 vehicles. Judging will begin at 08:00 and the awards will be handed out at 14:00.

Anniversaries

This year’s event will celebrate two very special anniversaries. 2022 marks the 50th year of BMW’s dedicated performance armed, simply called ‘M’ as well as the 35th birthday party of the Ferrari F40. No fewer than four examples of the desirable Italian supercar will be on show.

Another highlight for attendees will be the 1968 Toyota 2000GT sportscar. Only 351 examples of the 2000GT were produced. It famously featured in the 1967 James Bond movie You only live Twice. The seminal model for the Japanese carmaker underwent a bare-metal restoration over the last few years. The end result is a car that is as good as new and period correct.
