About a year ago we brought you a story about an American firm that planned to modify 911 Porsches to created their own take called the RR1 (original article here). The company has now unveiled the production-ready Rezvani RR1 and it looks even cooler than the original renders.

Lightweight and Retro

The production-ready Rezvani RR1 will be available in two derivatives. Both versions are based on the 992-generation of 911 Porsche. As you can see from the images, the cars have quite a retro appearance, more like a 1970s 911 than the modern machine that sits under that bespoke carbon-fibre body. Changes include new front and rear bumpers, new front fenders with restyled headlamps and a Le Mans-esque rear spoiler. Just 50 of these machines will be offered worldwide, so they should be a pretty rare sight.

Two Flavours

The RR1 600 is based on a ‘base-spec’ (if any 911 can be consider ‘base’) Carrera T. This version is more about driving thrills rather than out and out speed. However it is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3,0-litre flat-six that Rezvani warms up to 441 kW. Potential owners will have to bring their own donor car. As a result you can choose whether to shift via a seven-speed manual or let a seven-speed PDK transmission do the work for you. Rezvani quotes an impressive sprint time of just over 3,0 seconds from 0-100 km/h.

The RR1 750 is for those who want to show other traffic that splendid rear spoiler. It is based on the most recent Porsche 911 Turbo S. As most may already know, it is powered by a twin-turbo 3,8-litre flat-six from which power has been ramped up to 559 kW. The Turbo S is only available in all-wheel-drive guise which is mated with a PDK transmission. Standard launch control should return a 0-100 km/h time of just over 2,0 seconds.
