The 2022 Sema Show had some truly unique creations on show. One of the craziest has to be the Pagani-powered Mazda RX-7. Yes, you read that correctly: this RX-7 has an engine that is usually found in a Pagani Zonda.

One-Off

Gooichi Motors is responsible for this one-off machine. The guys from the Florida-based workshop built the car to showcase its abilities. The team had been to the Sema Show before with the same car. In its previous guise it boasted a turbocharged Chevy V8. The guys from Gooichi felt that they needed to ramp up their efforts to really stand out in 2022.

Mercedes-AMG V12

All Paganis are powered by Mercedes-AMG engines. It has been this way from the company’s very first model, the Zonda. Signor Pagani received a glowing recommendation from five-time F1 world champion Juan Manuel Fangio, which resulted in the Mercedes engine deal and it has been this way ever since.

The Pagani-powered Mazda RX-7 has the same V12, naturally aspirated engine as any Zonda. Gooichi Motors has reworked the engine significantly and they are targeting 1 000 hp (750 kW) from their custom build. Click on the video below to learn more about the car from the chaps who made it.
