Maserati has been on something of a product offensive the last few years. The Italian automaker has been rolling out models with regularity. The latest is the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore. This is a full electric version of the twin-turbocharged V6-powered GranCabrio (more at this link) that was revealed in March.

Same Shape, New Mechanicals

The Maserati Folgore Cabrio may appear similar to its ICE sibling, but it’s quite different mechanically. It features three electric motors, one on the front axle and two at the rear. Each motor produces 300kW. Peak combined power is 560kW, with 610 kW available with an ‘overboost’ function. Peak torque is a whopping 1 350 N.m.

The electric cabrio has AWD and thanks to the prodigious power outputs is pretty speedy. The 0-100 km/h sprint is said to take just 2,8 seconds. And the car has a top speed of 290 km/h. Maserati says the range is between 419 and 447 km. The GranCabrio is said to have genuine seating for four. The folding soft top can be opened and closed in about 15 seconds and at speeds lower than 50 km/h.
