Drag racing champion Cruz Pedregon blows body off his Funny Car when his cars supercharged engine blew up during qualifying for a recent Virginia event.

Drag racing champion Cruz Pedregon blew the body off his Funny Car while qualifying for the NHRA Nationals taking place at Virginia this weekend.

Pedregon was well in control of matters as his rival had a “moment” early in the run. As he was crossing the line the supercharged V8 motor went KA-BOOM blowing the body clear off the car. Thankfully the driver walked away uninjured.
