Last week we brought you leaked pics of the all-new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe ahead of the car’s official unveiling. You can read our original story at this link. No sooner than the new model has broken cover and BMW has released 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Parts.

Full line-up

Last week we speculated on the line-up but we can now confirm what buyers can expect. At the time of launch one diesel and two petrol engines will be: a three-cylinder petrol with 103 kW badged 218i, a 140 kW four-cylinder turbodiesel called the 220d and leading the charge will be the M235i xDrive with 225 kW. If you are reading this in the US then you can also choose from a 228i xDrive with 2,0-litre four-cylinder that produces 170 kW. Customers can choose from five equipment lines: Basic, Advantage, Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport.

The 2 Series Gran Coupe measures 4 526 mm in length, 1 800 wide, and 1 420 tall. A wheelbase of 2 670 mm creates a generous cabin. Standard specification for the BMW M235i xDrive range-topper includes BMW xDrive all-wheel drive, a mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential, M Sport steering and M Sport brakes. The eight-speed Steptronic transmission also features a Launch Control mode.

Sporty appearance

In order to give motorsport-enthusiastic customers a more custom appearance, BMW also offers a wide range of M Performance Parts. The list of parts includes an M rear spoiler in high-gloss black, high-gloss black model inscriptions, round M Performance stainless steel tailpipe finishers with titanium outer pipe and carbon fibre casing, high-gloss black mesh-style M front ornamental grille and Carbon M Performance exterior mirror caps.

Sporty cabin

The interior of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe can also be upgraded with various M Performance Parts. The most distinctive of these is the M Performance steering wheel that is covered in Alcantara. Shift paddles of the M Performance steering wheel can also be ordered in an M Performance version with carbon fibre fabric instead of the standard chrome. The sporty ambience is rounded off by M Performance floor mats.

High-performance rolling stock

Buyers can choose between 18- or 19-inch alloys. BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe can also be equipped with an M Performance brake system. Its larger, inner-vented and perforated lightweight construction brake discs offer improved braking response.
