South Africa is currently in an unprecedented lockdown situation for the next 21 days. People will have to remain in their homes for all but the most essential reasons. These steps are necessary if we plan to stop the spread of the Coronavirus, or Covid-19, as it is also known. While some people will be able to perform parts of their workload remotely from home a large segment of the population will be indoors during the lockdown with very little to do. With that in mind we bring you this list of car content to watch part 3, to keep you occupied during the next three weeks. You can read Part 1 of the series by clicking here and Part 2 can be found at this link.

Among this list are movies and online shows that cover a wide spectrum of motoring, from racing documentaries to action comedies. If you can think of any others, please post them below the link to this story on our Facebook page. While the list below includes titles we suggest you watch there is also a list we recommend you avoid at all costs. These include: Fast and Furious (2-27), Driven, Overdrive, Gone in 60 Seconds, Drive, The (2003) Italian Job and Need for Speed.

APEX: The Secret Race Across America

Most of us have seen or, at least, heard of the famous Burt Reynolds Cannonball Run movies. The action comedies were based in reality as racer Brock Yates used to organise a transcontinental race across the US to see who could drive from coast-to-coast across the US in the shortest time possible. The race was banned in 1979, but several have tried to reset the record over the years. APEX: The Secret Race Across America recounts this crazy endeavour, narrated by none other than rapper/actor Ice T.
