The chaps over at UK automotive site Car Wow have been busy. They’ve lined up a great drag race for the middle of the week. Two Turbos

The near identical cars are the latest generation 911 (992) Turbo S versions in coupe and cabriolet form. (you can learn more about the new models by clicking here). In its latest guise the range-topping 911 Turbo S derivatives punch out 478 kW from a twin-turbocharged flat-six engine. Peak torque is now up to a whopping 800 N.m. The 992 Turbo S variants deliver their power to all four wheels via a model-specific eight-speed Porsche twin-clutch transmission (PDK). With launch control the Turbo S can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in a claimed 2,7 seconds and from zero to 200 km/h in 8,9 seconds. Top speed is rated as 330 km/h.

Representing the naturally aspirated brigade is the previous (991.2) Porsche 911 GT3. Read our driving review of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS by clicking here. The 992 version is not yet available. Power is derive from a high-revving, naturally aspirated 4,0-litre flat-six. Maximum power is rated at 368 kW with 460 N.m of torque. As with all GT3s (read our retrospective of all GT3 models at this link) power is sent solely to the rear axle.
