Almost every single boyhood fantasy involves some kind of ultimate race car or super car, of those on e o the most popular of all ultimate race cars is the 911 Porsche. The 911 Porsche is a fantastic feat of German engineering and design, so much so that the model has not changed that much in terms of original concept and basic design since it was first conceived and built in nineteen sixty three.

The 911 Porsche was considered a landmark car when it was first introduced to an astonished motoring world. Loosely based on its own ancestor, the Volkswagen Beetle because of its similar rear mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration, it also used the same basic chassis and dimensions of one of the worlds most popular and endearing cars. The 911 Porsche is such a successful design that it is still being manufactured to this day, one of only a handful of classic sixties sports cars still in production.

A Brief History Of The 911 Porsche
Not long after the first series rolled out of the factory in Stuttgart Germany the 911 began to make waves, the model was such a revolution and was so popular that it was adapted for all manner of different race types. One of the most famous of all racing events in the world is the prestigious le Mans endurance race which takes place every year in France. The race event is a non stop twenty four hour racing event that is one of the cornerstones of all race events and is often considered by many car designers and manufacturers to be the ultimate testing ground for their latest designs. In nineteen seventy nine the Porsche 911 won that event as the 935 turbo.
