Porsche has a 49 year old history of models dating back to the 1950’s. When looking at the Porsche, often people mistake it for being a beetle or having the look of a beetle. However Porsche can be regarded as closely related to the beetle with its 356 model that in later years developed into the Porsche 911.

The Porsche 911 took the market by storm in the 1960’s and was also a racing car. Since then, every new Porsche that was released onto the market was loved and cherished by all the many Porsche fans even to this very day. 911 Porsche has many models namely;

  • Carrera
  • Carrera 4
  • Carrera 4S
  • 911 coupe
  • 911 convertible
  • 911 GT2
  • 911GT3

The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S pushes out 310lbft from its rear engine and can do 385 bhp. It does 0-100kph in 4.5 sec and a top speed of 297kpm however the 911 Turbo S can go from 0-100 in a whopping 3.3 sec. The Porsche 4 GTS 911 S does a track speed or top speed of 302 kph and the speed from 0-100 is 4.6 sec.

Although there are quite some critical talks about the latest Porsche 911 this 2012 model is different in more ways than one. The new Porsche 911 is 80kg lighter than its predecessor because its body is made up of aluminium. The centre console also has new improvements well as electronically operated seats that are better and improved with increased headroom. This new 911 also has less CO2 emissions and is lighter on fuel.

The Porsche Carrera will sell at an estimate R989 000 and the Carrera S will go for about R1 133 000. For those who love Porsche but cannot afford the brand new 911 or any new Porsche for that matter will be pleased to know that there are many car dealerships that sell second hand Porsches.

Porsche has always been known to take on the more expensive exotics as well as other sports cars in its league. For all the performance, luxury and comfort Porsche has to offer, one can be sure that it is all worth it.
