The 2026 Sema Show is in full swing at the moment. The annual showcase, which has nearly always taken place in Las Vegas, brings out the best in the American aftermarket industry. It is also a chance for company’s to gain maximum traction for the unique creations they are capable of buiding, such as this S-Klub LA CLK750S.

A mash-up
The S-Klub LA CLK750S looks very much a like a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, that iconic model that was built for GT1 racing in the late 1990s. However, look closer you may start to notice some differences. The most obvious is down the flanks. In profile it looks very much like a McLaren 750S. The reason is that the CLK750S is just that, a massively restyled McLaren. The mash-up seems fitting as the two companies have collaborated before, most notably on the McLaren-Mercedes SLR.
New suit
The car, which is dubbed ‘Game Over’ by its creators is finished in bright red with contrasting white alloys. Its profile is elongated to match that of the Mercedes-Benz GT1 racer. The transformation starts with four circular headlights, exaggerated wheel arches and upward-opening doors. A prominent roof scoop, aggressive front splitter and enormous fixed rear wing are all reminiscent of the Merc.
The red-and-white theme continues inside with a split right down the middle of the cabin. One seat is finished in red with a white stripe and its neighbour is vice versa. Other aspects of the McLaren have been retained, such as the steering, instrument cluster and centre console. There is no info about changes under the engine cover, but we suspect the twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 has been retained.
Rare as hen’s dentures
Just 20 fixed roof versions of the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR were made for sale to the public, as required by the rules at the time. A further six were made without a roof, so just 26 CLK GTRs exist. As a result they are even more rare than the famed Ferrari 250 GTO. That means, unless you have very deep pockets, and a willing seller, you are unlikely to get your hands on one.
The race GTR lore was cemented as it competed in two seasons (1997-98) of FIA GT racing. During this time it took 17 wins from 22 races claiming the drivers’ and constructors’ championships in the process. These racecars for the road were powered by a 6,9-litre, naturally aspirated V12 engine that delivered over 450 kW to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential transmission.
