Former Indy 500 champion Alexander Rossi had a VERY close call in the Baja 1000 race. The open-wheeler specialist was traversing a high-speed section of jumps when he came across a fan who chose to drive up the race route.

The Baja 1000 near miss took place while Rossi was completely unsighted as he crested a jump. For some unknown reason, and despite the jeers of the crowd, the driver of the black SUV proceed the wrong way on the race course.

Rossi’s Honda Ridgeline truck made the slightest of contact and removed the side mirror from the SUV. The whole thing could have gone a LOT worse for everyone.
