Two new models were launched earlier today, the Porsche Panamera GTS and Panamera GTS Sport Turismo. These two are the latest additions to the existing Panamera range and bolster other GTS offerings within the Porsche family.

More power

These new sporting models boast several upgrades, most notable of all being a more powerful engine. A 4,0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 produces 338 kW and extra 15 kW over its predecessor. Peak torque has been lifted to 620 N.m. The powerplant breathes through a standard sports exhaust system for a more robust engine note. Delivering power to all four wheels is an eight-speed PDK (dual-clutch transmission).

Porsche claims that both models can hit 100 km/h from standstill in a scant 4,1 seconds with the standard Sport Chrono package. Top speed is rated at 292 km/h for the Panamera and 289 for the Sport Turismo version. 390 mm front discs and 365 mm rear items help slow these models from high speeds with confidence.

Helping to provide a sportier ride Panamera GTS models feature adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology fitted as standard. Ride height of the two GTS models has been lowered by 10 mm. Rear active steer is an optional extra that can also help the dynamic prowess of the Panamera GTS twins.

Bespoke appearance

Porsche Panamera GTS models have a unique design language. Many of the cues are taken from other GTS models, helping to underline the sporting credentials. Termed the Sport Design package, the appearance starts with a new black front end, black trim at the bottom of the rear, and a variety of darker elements such as the taillamps. 20-inch Panamera Design wheels are standard.

The dark treatment continues in the cabin as the interior features black Alcantara and anodised aluminium. Standard items include a heated multifunction sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles and Alcantara trim.
