Next generation

The 992 GT3 Cup Car is based on the wider, turbo-spec lightweight body. It measures 1 902 mm wide, 28 mm wider at the rear. The front axle of the 992 generation is also wider. Filling out the wider tracks and arches are 12-inch wide rims on the front and 13-inch wheels at the rear axle. The seventh-generation racer generates more aerodynamic downforce thanks to a larger rear wing and front apron with prominent splitter. The rear wing is adjustable through eleven steps and features a ‘goose neck’ mounting for uninterrupted under-wing airflow.

Under the engine cover is a racing version of the firm’s water-cooled flat-six engine. The 4,0-litre unit develops 375 kW at 8 400 r/min; it redlines at 8 750. Peak torque of 470 N.m is produced at 6 150 r/min. The high-revving engine features dry-sump lubrication and a Bosch MS 6.6 electronic engine management system. The braking system consists of one-piece six-piston calipers made of aluminum that clamp 380 mm steel discs up front. The rear wheels feature monoblock four-piston calipers acting on steel brake discs of the same size.
