Porsche has found a neat way to celebrate a birthday that isn’t its own. The Nürburgring turns 100 in 2027, but Zuffenhausen is already rolling out a special 911 GT3 that wears the circuit’s history on its sleeve, bonnet, and sill plates.

The Nordschleife has earned its ‘Green Hell’ nickname. It opened in June 1927, stretches for 21 km, strings together 73 corners, and spends most of its time climbing, dropping, and loading up cars in ways that expose any weak link. Porsche has always treated this sort of place as a proving ground, so a commemorative GT3 feels right.

A centenary gift from Zuffenhausen

The model is called the Porsche 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring, and Porsche Deutschland is limiting it to 100 cars for the German market. Unforntunately, here is no global lottery or waiting list for the rest of us.

Buyers can choose between white and GT Silver metallic, both carrying green accents that tie straight back to the track’s nickname. Porsche has even carried that color into a protective film treatment, meaning this GT3 is dressed to be used, not tucked away under a dust cover.

The exterior detailing includes a tow hook that is finished in green and marked with white arrows to show the recovery points. Nordschleife outline decals sit on the wings. Owners can add a racing number between 0 and 999, applied to the doors, rear window, and bonnet. This personalisation makes sense on a car with obvious track intent, unlike some special editions that force it on you in a silly way.

The wheels are another good touch. Porsche has specified a high-gloss California Gold finish, broken up by satin black center locks. On paper that sounds like an odd color choice, but against white or GT Silver it gives the car a proper competition-car look.

The cabin

Inside, Porsche keeps the theme going. The sill plates are brushed aluminum black with “Welcome to the Green Hell” illuminated in white. The puddle lights project the Nordschleife track map onto the ground when the doors open.

The cabin gets extended leather and Race-Tex trim in black. Porsche breaks up the darkness with cross-pattern decorative stitching across the upper dashboard and doors. The driver’s seat is trimmed in green and wears the circuit logo on the headrest. The passenger seat stays black with the regular GT3 embroidered logo. This split tells you exactly where Porsche wants the emphasis to sit.

One extra flourishis the walnut gear selector. That is a lovely old-school nod to its racing ancestors. It should appeal to buyers who still enjoy a proper shift action rather than treating a gearbox as a software layer.

For the completists, there is also a matching Porsche Design Chronograph 1. The watch carries the Nürburgring logo on a matt-black dial, wears a black Porsche leather strap, and uses GT Silver decorative stitching.

Manthey kit

The optional Manthey Kit is with serious hardware is also on the cards. Porsche lists a specially sculpted floor, a larger front lip, a deeper rear diffuser, a bigger rear wing, adjustable suspension, and lighter 20-inch and 21-inch forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.

In Manthey specification, the GT3 recorded a lap of 6 min 50,863 sec around the Nordschleife, with 2024 Bathurst 12 Hour winner Ayhancan Güven at the wheel.

Porsche has given the 911 GT3 a clear link to the circuit that helped shaped its identity. For collectors, the draw is obvious. For everyone else, it is a reminder that Porsche still knows how to turn a special edition into something meaningful.
