Quick rewind

Kiwi Bruce McLaren founded the company in 1963. The company has since taken root in the UK. It has raced successfully in the Formula One world championship. It has gone on to secure 183 grand prix wins and claimed 20 world championships.

Smoky Action

The McLaren 60th birthday video has a pair of Artura models having a sideways blast at the racetrack. A V6 engine mounted amidships powers the Artura. The 2 993 cm³ powerplant makes 430 kW and 585 N.m of torque through the use of twin turbochargers. The Artura has an electric motor is positioned inside the transmission bell housing. The e-motor makes 70 kW and 225 N.m of torque.

McLaren claims the lightweight sportscar is capable of running on its battery alone for up to 30 km. The benchmark 0-100 km/h sprint is dismissed in 3,0 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 8,3 seconds and 0-300 km/h in 21,5 seconds. The top speed is 330 km/h.
