  2. Perez
  3. Sainz

CHEQUERED FLAG

Max Verstappen wins the Italian Grand Prix and makes it 10 in a row. Perez finishes in P2 while the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz closes off the podium in P3. Charles Leclerc finishes in P4 with Russell behind in P5 and Hamilton in P6.

LAP 47/51: 5 LAPS TO GO

Sainz now finds himself under pressure from Charles Leclerc. The two Ferraris are scrapping for the last place on the podium. Lewis Hamilton also moved past Albon and finds himself in 6th place. He needs to build a 5 second gap to Albon to retain this place.

LAP 45/51: HAMILTON TAKES NORRIS

Hamilton has managed to make his way past Norris into turn 1. Albon remains 3 tenths ahead of him. However, he has a 5 second time penalty that puts him down behind Alonso as things stand.

LAP 44/51: PEREZ VS SAINZ

Perez is pushing Sainz into turn 1 but can’t make the move stick. Perez has had to go to the escape road twice in the last few laps as Sainz closes him off. Hamilton has also been given a 5 second time penalty for causing a collision with Piastri.

LAP 32/51: PEREZ VS LECLERC

Perez has been closing the gap to Leclerc over the last few laps. However, Leclerc has not given the Mexican driver more than an inch of space. Perez is trying everything possible, but still finds himself behind the Ferrari. Perez finally made the move stick into turn 1 and is now chasing Sainz for P2.

LAP 25/51: MAX REGAINS THE LEAD

Lewis Hamilton assumed the lead while all the cars around him came into the pits for a new set of tyres. Max had to push to the limit but managed to effortlessly regain the lead within a few laps.

LAP 11/51: GASLY PITS

Gasly comes in for a fresh set of tyres. He is the first driver to pit, and hopes to jump the field by coming in first. Leclerc has dropped back half a second, while Verstappen still struggles to overtake Sainz on the main straight.

LAP 3/51: ALBON TAKES PIASTRI

Alex Albon powers his Williams past the McLaren of Oscar Piastri. The raw pace of the Williams managed to make the overtake effortless.

LAP 2/51: GREAT START FOR SAINZ

Carlos Sainz has a great start and manages to keep his place into turn 1. Russell is fighting Charles Leclerc for P3, while Hamilton falls back a place to P9. Hamilton is on the hard set of tyres, enabling him to go longer for this first stint.

FORMATION LAP II

All teams get off the line to prepare their tyres for the race. The race leaders are all on medium tyres

START ABORTED

Yuki is still stuck on the side of the track, causing the entire field to go around again for a second run. The teams are filling up the grid as well as the start has been aborted.

FORMATION LAP: YUKI IN TROUBLE

All 20 cars get off the line as they warm their tyres for the race. Yuki Tsunoda went off track while making his way to the grid. This puts him at the back of the grid, if he can even get this car to start the Grand Prix.
