This video was sent to us, like so many, via social media. Deathwish, the 1977 Toyota Hilux video caught our attention because of the human aspect, rather than the craziness of the actual build, and it is crazy.

Check out this custom Mercedes-Benz S-Class bakkie.

Josh Mazerolle is a car-guy like someone you may know. In this video, he explains how he obtained and modified this pick-up into a wide-body monster. After buying it, Mazerolle took three months and three engines to drive it back to his home state. It wasn’t Mazerolle’s intention, but he’s created one of the most insane-looking Toyota Hiluxes on the planet. You can see a step-by-step video of the build at this link.

His 1977 Toyota Hilux, nicknamed “Deathwish”, boasts a twin-turbocharged and nitrous-injected V8 motor that is good for 1 000 hp (746 kW). His truck has captured the attention of petrolheads and just regular folks all over the USA.

The Ken Block Hoonitruck is another custom, twin-turbo bakkie creation, click for pics and more info.
