It must be pretty darn cool to be a Formula One driver. You get to drive some of the quickest racecars on the planet around racetracks all over the world. Millions of people adore you and to top it all you get paid a great deal. It seems as though the fun doesn’t stop there as we see in this video titled Beat the Boss.

Mercedes-AMG F1 arranged this video that looks like huge fun. In it we see the two regular Mercedes F1 pilots, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas try to beat the boss, Toto Wolff, as the three race in identical Mercedes-AMG GT R sportscars. Incidentally, this is the very same model used as the Safety Car in Formula One. (Click here to read about the most recent, most extreme version of Mercedes GT family, called the GT Black Series.)

Toto Wolff isn’t simply team principal at the multiple championship-winning outfit, he has some skills behind the wheel. The Austrian enjoyed stints in Formula Ford, top-flight GT series, rallying in his home country’s national series and he has a class win at the arduous Nurburgring 24 Hour race. His two employees, of course, need little introduction. Lewis Hamilton is a six-time F1 world champ (learn why one former SA champ thinks that Hamilton is the best F1 driver of all time) and Finn Bottas is a multiple race winner.

The site of this three-way battle is the Silverstone circuit that played host to the most recent F1 race, which Hamilton won in dramatic style as he crossed the line on three wheels (read our race review here). The same venue will play host to the 70th anniversary event taking place this coming weekend. Three Mercedes-AMG GT Rs, three highly competitive and skilled drivers and one empty Silverstone circuit; what could possibly go wrong…
