Subaru Southern Africa introduces a limited-edition Subaru WRX STi Diamond Edition30. This halo model was locally developed to celebrate 30 years of the famous badge. The chaps at the local subsidiary took a standard WRX STi and gave it a few choice tweaks, especially under the hood.

More power

The Subaru WRX STi Diamond Edition30 has increased power over a regular WRX STi. A remapped ECU and performance exhaust system help bump up power in the 2,5-litre flat-four engine to 260 kW with peak torque of 464 N.m of torque at 4 000 r/min.

Subaru says the top speed remains 255 km/h but the 0–100 km/h has been reduced. The benchmark time of 5,03 seconds is 0,7 seconds quicker than the standard WRX STi.

Upgrades

There are several enhancements that differentiate the Subaru WRX STi Diamond Edition30 from other models. A 20 mm wider track on both axles is complemented by a 10 mm lower ride height. 19-inch alloys are shod with 245/35 R19 rubber. The Brembo braking system features six-pot calipers at the front and 2-pot calipers at the rear.

There is also high viz yello detailing to highlight the standard car’s bodykit. Of course, the signature WRX STi wing is still in place.

Only 30 units of the Subaru WRX STi Diamond Edition30 will be prepped and delivered to customers in South Africa. As part of the customer sales experience and in addition to the unique identifiers on the cars, these cars will be delivered to customers with a special Owners Certificate certifying the limited-edition validity of the car.

The Subaru WRX STi Diamond Edition30 costs R799 000, which includes a three year/75 000km full maintenance plan and a five-year/150 000 km warranty.
