This Ferrari 488 Pista vs McLaren 720S track battle video is one that fans of both brands have been eagerly anticipating. The guys over at SupercarDriver have arranged both cars, Anglesey racetrack and a tame racing driver to find out which is quicker.

The Ferrari Pista is one of the most desirable supercars on sales today. This limited-edition Prancing Horse is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3,9-litre V8 engine that drives the rear wheels through a dual-clutch transmission. Its high-revving engine produces peak outputs of 530 kW and 770 N.m of torque. All aspects of the car have been honed at Ferrari’s own Fiorano racetrack to be the ultimate 488.

McLaren’s 720S is currently the top of the Super Series range of cars. It is also powered by a twin-turbocharged V8. It makes fractionally more power at 537 kW but an identical level of torque at 770 N.m. Power is fed to the rear axle via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 720S is not the track-focused special that the Pista is, the most extreme 720S is yet to be launched.
