A UK company called Boreham Motorworks has signed a brand licence agreement with Ford Motor Company to produce a series of continuation and remastered iconic Ford vehicles. The first two models of this partnership will be the legendary RS200 and the Group 5 Mk1 Escort. The RS200 will be new whereas the Mk1 will be a so-called continuation model. What this means is that the Escorts will carry VIN tags as though Ford has produced them… just 60-odd years later.

Anniversary Present

The RS200 will be an all-new creation. It will debut in time for the 40th anniversary of the original Group B special. Boreham has not released too much information about the new RS200. We expect it to stay true to the original recipe of mid-mounted turbocharged engine driving all four wheels.

The RS200 and Mk1 Escort are the first two of seven iconic Ford vehicles that will be celebrated over the course of the series. Our wish list of iconic Fords would include a modernised RS2000, Sierra Cosworth as well as an Escort Cosworth.
